HEARTCHECK™ SMART Monitoring ECG screening will provide health and wellness markets with credible cardiac health screening services
TORONTO, ONTARIO – CardioComm Solutions, Inc. (TSX VENTURE:EKG) (“CardioComm Solutions” or the “Company”), a global medical provider of consumer heart monitoring and medical electrocardiogram (“ECG”) software solutions, today announced it has commenced a sales and marketing campaign through Kentucky-based Club Solutions Magazine for the sale of HeartCheck™ ECG devices and the use of the SMART Monitoring ECG reading services to wellness, health and sports clubs as well as personal trainer business in the USA and Canada. The Company also confirms they have been working with multiple device manufacturers to bring new HeartCheck™ branded ECG recording devices to market that will support Smartphone connectivity, are wearable and can be offered with pricing and functionality intended to be directly competitive with offerings such as Fitbit’s fitness band, Medtronic’s Corventis ECG patch and AliveCor’s ECG card.
Disclosed through the April issue of the Club Solutions publication, the HeartCheck™ ECG Screening Partner Program is offered to health and sports club operations as an added value business offering to provide appropriate and medically relevant cardiac health screening for their customers. While the HeartCheck™ ECG Partner Program is currently supported through the use of the HeartCheck™ ECG PEN, the Company has been busy this past year developing new HeartCheck™ devices for use with their SMART Monitoring service such as a Bluetooth version of the HeartCheck™ ECG PEN, the HeartCheck™ Lifeband and two versions of a business card sized device to be named the HeartCheck™ ECG Card.
The multi-month campaign will be supported by Club Solutions through their website, press releases, social media promotion, opt in email subscribers and via print. The campaign will reach an anticipated 150,000 Club Solutions clients and subscribers internationally each month. The print edition of the Club Solutions Magazine will be distributed to 24,000 health club operators, the majority of which are located in the USA. Distribution will also specifically reach each of the 350 GoodLife Fitness clubs in Canada. The HeartCheck™ Partner Program and new HeartCheck™ device previews are in the new Fitness Tracking/Testing category section of the publication and will also be shown as a highlighted Fitness Technology product feature. The products will also be carried in the October buyer’s guide for 2016/2017.
Health and sports club operators are actively searching for additional revenue opportunities and to be at the top of their game in providing new and advanced technologies to enhance the health and wellness experience of their members. With multijurisdictional clearances from medical organizations for consumer use of the HeartCheck™ devices and SMART Monitoring, expansion into this evolving market would offer a largely unchallenged market opportunity. Sports organizations looking to provide easy and meaningful health screening solutions that provide real and medically relevant reports for their members will benefit from having access to CardioComm Solutions’ technologies which have a seventeen year track record of providing ECG monitoring solutions into traditional medical installations such as hospitals, physician offices and medical call centers. CardioComm Solutions’ technologies hold clearances for the sale of HeartCheck™ technologies to consumers from the European Union (CE Mark), Australia (TGA), the USA (FDA), China (CFDA) and Canada (Health Canada).
Regular ECG screening has been shown to reduce the risk for sudden cardiac death and the parallel between offering screening in the setting of where people are involved in returning to or maintaining an active and health lifestyle is not lost on the health club industry. Additionally, offering a cardiac monitoring opportunity would add comfort where customers are experiencing any symptoms of dizziness or discomfort especially when associated with physical and emotional stress.
This announcement follows a recently reported initiative involving the introduction of the HeartCheck™ ECG Partner Program to US-based pharmacists. The Company confirms that similar projects are being planned for the USA, Canadian and European markets for community physicians, pharmacists, physiotherapists in sports clubs and gyms as well as workplace screening programs.
